Happy New Year!
I've just returned to Singapore after a wonderful 2.5 weeks in Oz. Mostly it was spent hanging out with B, my family and other friends.
Now that I am back at work I realise that I should be permanently back in Sydney by now. My original roll-off (going home) date was 31 December. I am not sure I am ready to leave Singapore just yet, but I still miss Sydney everyday.
It's getting to the time when I need to dig my heels in and ask the project to confirm when I will actually leave. It is getting difficult to justify my own project plans when they assume I'll be here until end of June.
But when is the right time to leave? How do I balance the different things that I want?
I'd like to go home so that I can:
I'd like to stay in Singapore so that I can:
Until I decide what I want, it's hard to fight for anything!
Update: After writing this blog, I have negotiated for the end of April to return home. Can I survive that long? Will I wish I had stayed longer? Can I get this date in writing so that the project must stick to it?

Above: All of these people have the same surname as me! We celebrated Christmas Day lunch with my Dad's side of the family.

I'd like to go home so that I can:
- Spend time with B everyday
- Relax a little
- Play more ultimate
- Do more work for ATSS
- See my Aussie friends more regularly
- start making hard decisions on what I do next
I'd like to stay in Singapore so that I can:
- See this piece of work get completed
- Travel some more in Asia
- Enjoy my per diems and lower cost of living
- See my Singapore friends more regularly
- Not have to make hard decisions on what I do next
